This card is not assembled yet....this is in the 'think and create' process, so just a possibility. I eventually stamped it with a sympathy stamp, but could easily be used for birthdays.

Popping with Paisley

Those that know me know that I gravitate to certain types of papers. Pailey is one of those prints that I tend to always pick up. I'm guessing it might have to do with growing up with tons of paisley print clothing. Maybe. I just love the way that it looks!

This page is make using a strip of a coordinating paper to help break up the business of the paisley. It is layered over a solid color that I wanted to bring out of the background. I chose to do the photo
areas in the 2 prodominate colors on the page, embossing the top layer with a basic dots embossing folder.

Flowers are all made from Cheery Lynn dies and embellished with pearls.

Cheery Lynn, My Favorite Things, Memory Box and Spellbinders Dies!

There is a lot going on with this page starting with the bright and colorful floral pattern of the paper. I decided to pull the yellow out in the flowers by using yellow to mount my photos and make the flourishes. The orange to make the flowers pop and the teal to bring it all together.

Cream circle was cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities circles. Pierced scalloped circle is a set by Memory Box 'Open Studio', Flowers are the Daisy strip by Cheery Lynn. The flourishes are the stitched flourish by My Favorite Things 'Die-namics'. Candi Dots finish off the centers of the flowers.

Cute-a-tude!

I saw this title in a title suggestion book and thought it was so adorable! I think every mom has a picture of her cute as a button child showing tons of attitude! I think this is a perfect title for those pictures!

Joyful Penquin Shaker Card!

Don't you just love shaker cards? They seem to bring out the kid in all of us!

I used a country blue cardstock for the base of this card. I also used it for accents on the card....the scalloped circle (Impression Obsession) and the top fishtail banner (My Favorite Things-Dynamics).

Plaid paper is by Carta Bella. Penguin is a Stamps by Judith, and colored with Copics.

I kept this card simple and just put the sequins in the shaker with a plain cream cardstock backing. Cream was also used for the Joy die (Lawn Fawn) and the bottom fishtail banner (My Favorite Things-Dynamics)

The snowflake came inside the sequin package.

Tim Holtz Crazy Bird -Tree Decorating

If you aren't out shopping all the Black Friday sales, you could be like my family and start decorating your tree! We have an artificial tree due to my allergies so we generally have it up from Black Friday until mid January!

This is the last of my Tim Holtz Crazy Bird Christmas cards. For now, anyway!

I used Natural Felt Cardstock as the card base. A Coordinations Forrest Moss cardstock for layering and for the trees. The tree patterned paper is by Basic Grey.

I used the Crazy Accessories Candy Cane for this card along with the sweet Crazy Bird. (Shhh......He's my favorite!) I hand cut out the bird and candy canes.

The trees are the fir tree trio by Impression Obsession. I used the large tree for my card.

I can't wait to make more of these cards!

Tim Holtz Crazy Birds- Christmas Eve

If you haven't heard about the Tim Holtz Crazy Birds yet, you are missing out! These things are so popular they keep flying off the shelf! And the Accessories that go with them! Super cute!

I made this crazy bird into one who was watching for Santa!

I used a natural felt card base and layered with a true red cardstock.
The black background paper is by Basic Grey. LOVE the writing on this paper!
I then added a tree die by Memory Box. I turned it on it's side to make it a branch.
 Circle is by Spellbinders Nestabilities.
Santa and sleigh is by Cheery Lynn (I cut two of the reindeer off to fit it on my card)
I colored my Crazy Bird with R46, R37, C7 and E57. I colored the Top Hat Accessory with C7 and G06. I fussy cut my bird and hat, but Tim Holtz does have die sets that match each of these stamp sets if that is what you prefer!
I finished off the card by adding Crystal Stickles on hat and branch to resemble snow.

Hobby House Christmas Topper 2

Yesterday I showed you card 1 from my Hobby House Christmas Topper class. This is the second card we made in that class.

I used the same Copic background technique on this card. I also used a green Copic marker that matched the green in my die cut poinsettia (by Cheery Lynn) to color over the leaves in the picture.
I inked the poinsettia petals with matching blue before assembling. I used a red pearl in the center.
Papers are a metallic blue cardstock and polka dots are by Kaiser Craft. Ribbon tied at the bottom finished off this card.

Impression Obsession Gingerbread House Card

I bought this really neat Impression Obsessions house die and just had to play around with it a little bit. This was a real quick work up, but it could definitely be made in 'more'.

I cut the house out of brown with the roof, gingerbreading, window and door out of white. I used the Impression Obsession Christmas Icons candy cane to do the candy canes that line the roof. I used Copic markers to draw the swirls on white Candi Dots to make the mints that line the bottom of the house. I finished off the card by using a matching green ribbon on the bottom.

You could add a ton more candy dies around the house if you choose. A gingerbread person would be reallyy cute with this! A nice Christmas stamp would finish it off.

The ribbon added just the right touch to complete this page!
I really enjoy using this apple green and the deep red raspberry cardstock together. Keep a watch out.....you may see them used in a future Christmas page!

Senior Tennis Page

I had the honor of taking John's senior pictures this year so of course I HAD to scrapbook some of them for him! For his photo shoot, John's one request was that we take some pictures at the tennis courts. These pictures were amoung my favorite from our shoot!

Picture This has this amazing tennis racket paper that went perfect with my photos! I layered the photos and added the senior title to the page using the same layering colors. Love how this turned out!

Granddaughter scrapbook page with Prima Flowers

I found this sweet flower paper all by it's lonesome on the sales floor. I am unable to leave these beautiful single papers out there, I just have to make them into something!

This lonely paper became this sweet page dedicated to a granddaughter! I don't have one of those.....yet......but I hope to some day!

I used pink and white twine to accent the side of this page. Prima flowers in pinks and yellow to play off the ones on the paper. The saying is a vellum quote mounted over plain cardstock. Rhinestones finished everything off.

Perfectly Fall!

Leaves are busy turning colors and falling into our yards! My husband has been really busy getting all those leaves bagged up and taken away.

I created this page from scrap pieces I had left over from some other projects! I had the leaves custom cut for me at Picture This in coordinating colors. I inked them and layered them. I centered a button on the leaf patterned paper and added a twine bow on top. Twine was also used on the top of the photo areas to tie it all together. Gems were added to finish off the look.

Grass die by Impression Obsession (I just cut it apart into several pieces!) The bunnies are also by IO. The flowers are by Cheery Lynn. I finished them off with rhinestone accents. Christmas Scrapbook Page with IO and Cheery Lynn

I'm seriously in love with using banners on my pages. For this page I used a pretty green and white polka dot paper along with a Christmas paper that had a burlap text look to it. I cut the burlap in triangles for the banner. I added the IO Bow die in burgundy and pearl accents to the centers of the bows. I embossed the burgundy photo squares with a poinsettia embossing folder and inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink. I finished off the page by adding a coordinating poinsettia cut with the Cheery Lynn poinsettia die. The center is a Candi dot!

Impression Obsession Christmas Card

To make this card I used the IO lacey edge die on two sides of  my 5.5 x 4.25 white paper. Then I cut a section out of the middle with a Spellbinders A2 layering die. I popped this up over white cardstock. I cut pine bough from IO out and attached to corner. I made a bow out of burgundy ginham ribbon. The birds are cut from the Cheery Lynn Chickadee die and embellished with Copic markers.
I'd love to get this card for Christmas!

Memory Box, Impression Obsession and Spellbinders Oh My!

This color combination always reminds me of an outfit a friend of mine had in high school. Teal blue and red. Red cardstock is used for the card base, then layered with a teal cardstock. I used this red snowflake pattnderned paper and cut out a Spellbinders Labels 18 out of the center. I layered it over a lovely teal polka dot paper and inserted cream IO Deer Trio. I used the Memory Box Garland Greenery in the right corner and teal ribbon along the bottom. I added red polka dot Candi dots in the greenery to resemble holly berries.

Christmas Scrapbook page

Christmas will be here before we know it! Here is a page I whipped up the other day to get ahead of the Christmas rush! I wanted to use something that was different from the traditional reds and greens and think this paper fit the bill!

I used coordinating papers to make this 2 photo layout. I left room in the upper right for journaling (or a photo) They are hard to see by I have vellum snowflakes with stickles on them accenting the page as wel as the tree and fence. Photo areas are embossed with dots and tied with matching ribbon . Simple and Sweet!

Memory Box Country Fence Oval Frame

Some people look at this die and see a road. I looked at it and saw a river. A frozen river, I had to turn this into a Christmas card! I cut the die out in white card stock and mounted it on white. I used crystal stickles to accent the river and hills of snow. I added blue Mirricard under the white cardstock and also cut out the greetings from it! Simple and elegant!

Halloween Spooktacular

I'm taking a break from all the Christmas card creating and focusing a little on the rest of the year.
I was going through my photos the other day trying to get my scrapbooks up-to-date and came across some pictures of the girls when they were little and out trick-or-treating at their grandmas. (yes, I'm that far behind on my scrapbooks. Don't judge me! ha!) It inspired me to create a Halloween page.

I love using purples and greens with the traditional orange, black and white. The title I used is for sale at Picture This and was the exact look I was going for. These sweet little ghost just finish off the page.
